Changes in society and advances in technology need to consider a new way of facing education. From there, Universities, influenced by internal and external demands, have had to rethink their training models. The competency-based educational model replaces the traditional model based on the achievement of objectives; however, this new focus implies a deep restructuring of the formative itineraries of the study programs. The objective of this article is to analyze the curriculum redesign of Bachelor of Education (French) teacher education degree program. As a method study, a documentary analysis of the curriculum redesign of the bachelor’s degree in French program implemented in 2018, internal documents for its generation and the UMCE Educational Model (2016) is carried out. The result of the analysis revealed that the line of courses called French for teaching are presented as a pedagogical innovation with a competency-based approach that, through the workshop structure, is articulated with the line of practices and didactics in the different semesters of training.
