A personal point of view with respect to the so called quantitative and qualitative research, the scientific level of the second one and its position in the scientific field nowadays valid in social sciences and education is presented. Stand is taken by the author regarding the validity and need of paradigms, designs and techniques for eachty in different levels of pe of research. Different conceptions of the notion of science and their meaning reality are discussed.
