         <abstract>
            <title>Resumen:</title>
            <p>El acelerado fenómeno de envejecimiento de la población releva la importancia de que el país se prepare para atender y asistir a sus adultos mayores. Los Establecimiento de Larga Estadía para el Adulto Mayor (ELEAM) son una pieza fundamental en ese cuidado, y las personas que trabajan en él son determinantes en la calidad de servicio, cuidado y amor que se brinda a los residentes.  Es por esto que el reclutamiento, selección y contratación de esos colaboradores resulta crítico. A través de una revisión bibliográfica, un estudio de campo y una encuesta, identificamos una serie de oportunidades de mejoramiento en este proceso. Estas oportunidades se agruparon en tres categorías: mejoramientos generales, mejoramientos del proceso de reclutamiento y selección, y mejoramiento de la retención de buenos colaboradores. El análisis y eventual implementación de estas mejoras creemos que podría favorecer un mejoramiento de las competencias, conocimientos y habilidades de los colaboradores del ELEAM, impactando positivamente la calidad de servicio que brindan a los adultos mayores.</p>

         <trans-abstract xml:lang="en">
            <title>Abstract:</title>
            <p>The accelerated aging of the population highlights the importance of countries preparing to care for and assist the elderly. The Long-Stay Establishments for the Elderly (ELEAM) are a fundamental piece in this care, and the people who work there are decisive in the quality of the service, attention and affection that is provided to the residents. Consequently, the recruitment, selection and hiring of these collaborators is essential. Through a literature review, a field study, and a survey, we identified several opportunities for improvement in this process. These opportunities were grouped into three categories: general improvements, improvements in the recruitment and selection process, and improvement in the retention of good employees. We believe that the analysis and eventual implementation of these opportunities could improve the skills, knowledge, and abilities of ELEAM's collaborators, improving the quality of the service they provide to older adults. </p>
